What You're Doing Tonight, 5/29

PARTY LIKE IT’S 1776: Get in on the fun and go see the movie-musical “1776” at the Independence Living History Center. But be prepared when you get there. You’re not just going to watch, you’re going to participate too. This interactive evening will let you become a part of the action, with sing-a-longs and provided props. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and military and $10 for children 12 and under. For questions, call 215.629.4026.

PAPER BAGS NOT INCLUDED: Get all dolled up and head over to 941 Theater in Northern Liberties for a formal 40s DJ party. Starting at 8 p.m., $10 gets you as many 40s as it takes to get you to freedom. So throw on your most dapper dress or snappiest suits, strap on your dancing shoes and get ready for an evening you’ll never remember. Call 215.235.1385 for more details.

KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE: Beer is a part of American culture just as much as apple pie, but unlike apple pie, not many Americans know what it takes to make a beer. Until now, that is. Learn and taste what it takes to make a beer at the “Hops Class” sponsored by the Beer School of Philadelphia. The class starts at 7:30 p.m. and costs $29.99. More information can be found by calling 800.817.7351.
