Newtown Siblings Offered Widener University Scholarships

Widener University is offering four full scholarships to siblings and dependents of the Connecticut school shooting victims.

The school announced Friday that three scholarships are being funded by alumnus Dan Borislow, a telecommunications executive.

Widener President James Harris III said Borislow's generosity prompted the university to sponsor a fourth scholarship.

The grants are being made available to siblings of the 20 first-graders gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary last week. Dependents of six adult victims are also eligible.

The scholarships will be available for up to 20 years, or until all four are awarded.

The applicants must first be accepted to the university in Chester, Pa. The funds will cover tuition and room and board for four years.
