La Garçonne Launches In-House Collection

E-commerce site La Garçonne has just launched an in-house collection aptly titled La Garçonne Moderne for fall.

The collection is designed by the site's founder and creative director, Kris Kim, and precisely typifies the aesthetic of the website, which launched in 2005. It's boyish, modern and insanely chic. Prices are a little steep (the collection ranges from $295–$1,450), but pieces—which include cardigans, trenches and wool gauze tunics—are refreshingly non-trendy, so we'd bank on these getting lots of wear past fall 2011.

We're particularly fond of the wool silk crepe shirt (shown above, center) and the brushed cotton trench (above, right). The alpaca hand-knit sweater—an investment piece, to be sure at $450, is pricey, but something we're sure we'll be wearing for many winters to come. Same goes for the merino wool rib crewneck ($495).

As fall is the time to replenish and restock, you may want to click over to La Garçonne sooner rather than later. If streamlined basics are on your "must-buy" list, you may just find everything you're looking for right here.
