Arthur Cavaliere, former Chef de Cuisine at Stephen Starr's Parc, has partnered up with developer Mark Sherman to open In Riva in East Falls. If the name didn't tip you off, In Riva is going to be an Italian concept, and translates to "along the river," as it sits on the bank of the Schuylkill at 4116 Ridge Avenue. If the address sounds familiar, it once housed Franco's Trattoria, and before that, Verge.
The menu is heavily Southern Italian, with many of the dishes crisped up in the wood-fired oven, including Napoletano pizza and plates of antipasti. The opening is set for December, and we're hoping that Cavaliere and Sherman have more luck than the previous owners.
