Taylor Swift Gets BMI Honor Ahead of Country Music Awards

Swift up for "Entertainer of the Year" award at CMAs

Taylor Swift could earn new bragging rights at tonight’s Country Music Awards, just one day after snagging “Top Song” honors at the BMI Country Awards in Nashville, Tenn.

"I just want to say to every songwriter and every loved one of a songwriter, thank you, because you are the reason I wanted to try Nashville," the 19-year-old pop star said in her acceptance speech Tuesday for the song  “Love Story,” The Associated Press reported.

"You are all my heroes," she added.

Swift could walk away with  “Entertainer of the Year”  at tonight's 43rd Annual Country Music Awards, where she's also set to perform. The show airs at  8 p.m. EST on ABC.

The last time Swift was honored on an awards show rap star Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at MTV’s Video Music Awards in September.

Ever since the Kanye debacle, Swift’s public profile has soared -- boosted by a series of media interviews and TV talk show appearances.

Swift did double duty as host of NBC’s “SNL” last weekend, performing music and skits. Online videos of her “Monologue Song” and Kate Gosselin impression have since gone viral.

This week, Swift was also nominated for three People’s Choice Awards.
