Wilfredo Pacheco López

Wilfredo Pacheco López is a bilingual, multimedia journalist for Telemundo62, where he delivers live reports during the evenings, Monday through Friday. He joined Telemundo62 in December 2024, after working as a multimedia journalist for Telemundo New Mexico.

Wilfredo is eager to serve the Philadelphia community and make a meaningful impact on the Hispanic population in various ways. “As a Puerto Rican in the diaspora, I aim to connect with those who need to speak out, share their stories, or communicate through our station’s platform,” he said.

One of Wilfredo’s most memorable moments as a reporter came when he covered a heartbreaking story about a family who lost everything in a devastating fire. “When I arrived at the scene, the family ran into my arms, crying for help,” he said. “That moment led to a powerful story, where I was able to help them share their experience and begin to rebuild from the ashes.”

Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Wilfredo is deeply committed to community service. For more than five years, he has excelled in roles such as reporter, TV and radio presenter, event coordinator, coach, and educator in Puerto Rico. He is also an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), an organization dedicated to advancing the careers of Hispanic journalists in the United States.

Wilfredo holds a bachelor’s degree in TV and Radio Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, as well as a master’s degree in Journalism and Innovation from the University of Sagrado Corazón, also in Puerto Rico. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, visiting Puerto Rico’s beaches and enjoying nature, as well as teaching and coaching younger generations, and exploring musical theater.
