Winds, Rain Whip the Shore

The threat of minor coastal flooding continues in New Jersey, especially along the south coast, as a slow-moving nor'easter lingers.

A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect for the entire Jersey Shore until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Heavy rain has not been much of a problem, though many parts of New Jersey had more than an inch of rain from Thursday night through Friday.

Onshore winds may keep back bays from draining and high surf can cause beach erosion.

Forecasters are predicting the possibility of widespread poor drainage and roadway flooding during high tide Saturday afternoon. There was some flooding reported Friday, too.

The following events have been rescheduled due to the weather:

Avalon Chamber of Commerce Seafood Festival – Rescheduled to November 2, November 3, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sea Isle City’s 2013 Italian Festival and Columbus Day Parade on October 12 – Postponed until October 26.
