A two-page spread in Bon Appétit magazine says something that we locals already knew: Philadelphia is simply delicious.

Telling readers that this is a great place to take the kids on summer vacation, the world-renowned magazine showcased eight amazing eateries in the city of Brotherly Love, while also giving travel advice for flights and local hotels.

Bon Appetit applauds The Franklin Fountain for bringing back "the lost art of ice cream sodas;” calls Distrito’s modern Mexican menu “pitch perfect;” gives three “impressive” reasons readers must visit Zahav; calls Osteria a “modern treasure;” recommends taking home a local brew from Bella Vista Beer & Soda Distributor as a souvenir; calls Johnny Brenda’s a “rite of passage for local foodies;” and dubs Reading Terminal Market as Philly’s Louvre.

Thanks for the affirmation, Bon Appétit. Now that we’ve been proven a delicious city, it may not hurt so much if we’re called fat again. At least we have a good reason.
