That Girl: Margaret Getty

This week's That Girl Profile is Margaret.

This week's Profile is Margaret Getty of Philadelphia,Pa. Philly Fashion guru Catriona Whitehead tells us why Margaret is this week's That Girl.

What I like about this look?

Her overall look is fresh, simple, and feminine. Pairing a crisp button-down shirt with a skirt or shorts always adds polish, maturity, and fashion savvy to your appearance. The collared shirt, being predominantly used in work settings, radiates a sense of power, business, and control. When you pair it with a floor length, bright fuchsia, silk skirt you breathe life, femininity, and joy into the ensemble—leaving you with a healthy balance of seriousness and fun, age and youth. Add some beautiful jewelry, some sandals, and you’re done.

Where could this outfit be worn?

This outfit is good for casual to dressy casual settings: class, going shopping, going out to lunch or dinner, baby showers, bridal showers, and work (depending on your dress code).

Where can you buy this particular look?

A nicely fitted white button-down can be found at Banana Republic, Express, JCrew, Lands End, New York & Co., and Ralph Lauren. This specific skirt looks like it came from either Zara or Urban Outfitters. Other varieties of beautiful bright floor length skirts can be found at JCrew, LOFT, ModCloth.com, and Revolve Clothing.

Style tip?

My one styling tip, as always, would be to simply add a skinny belt around the waistband of the skirt—belts really serve to finish a look-perhaps a yellow, green, or navy one.
