2017 NFL Draft Prospect Watch: WR Weapons for Carson Wentz

While Sunday's loss to the Redskins showed that Eagles' QB Carson Wentz needs help on the offensive line, every week this season has shown his lack of weapons on the outside.

The offensive line class isn't particularly deep this year, but the wide receiver class is shaping up to be a decent one.

Here are five of the top receiving prospects for the 2017 NFL draft and how they fared last week:

JuJu Smith-Schuster, USC, junior, WR, (6-2/220)
2016 stats: 40 catches, 565 yards, 8 TDs
I know what you're thinking: "Another USC receiver?!" But Smith-Schuster looks like the real deal. He put up nine catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout win over Arizona. Not to make excuses, but the inconsistency USC has experienced at the quarterback position has hurt Smith-Schuster and the Trojans' offense. He'll likely be the first receiver off the board come April.

Mike Williams, Clemson, redshirt junior, WR, (6-3/225)
2016: stats: 39 catches, 578 yards, 4 TDs
If not for injury concerns from last season, Williams might be the top-rated receiving prospect in the draft. The redshirt junior is showing no ill effects from last year's neck injury. Williams hauled in a career-high 12 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in Clemson's overtime victory over NC State. Williams will come off the draft board right after Smith-Schuster.

Travis Rudolph, Florida State, junior, WR, (6-1/192)
2016 stats: 32 catches, 497 yards, 3 TDs
Rudolph is another prospect suffering from a lack of consistent quarterback play, but he broke out against a decent Wake Forest team last week when he grabbed a career-high 13 catches for 238 yards. Rudolph hasn't found the end zone since Week 2, but he's still explosive, averaging 15.5 yards per catch.

Dede Westbrook, Oklahoma, senior, WR, (6-0/175)
2016 stats: 43 catches, 728 yards, 8 TDs
There may not be a prospect who has helped his stock more than Westbrook over the last three weeks. After putting up 17 catches for 154 yards and no touchdowns while dealing with an injury the first three weeks, Westbrook has gone nuts over his last three contests, hauling in 26 catches for 574 yards and eight scores. While he may not possess the great size of the other receivers in this class, he may be the most dynamic as he's averaged 22 yards a catch during his tear.

Corey Davis, Western Michigan, senior, WR, (6-3/213)
2016 stats: 44 catches, 652 yards, 10 TDs
Couldn't do a post featuring only receivers and not include Davis. He didn't have a big week considering how dominant he's been, but he still hauled in two touchdowns among his eight catches for 63 yards. Much like Wentz, Davis will see a rise in his stock during events like the Senior Bowl and combine.
