Injured Phillies centerfielder Shane Victorino was in the lineup Wednesday for Game 6 of the World Series.

Victorino would start in center and bat second, according NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark.

It was feared that Victorino could possibly have to sit the game out after he was hit in his throwing hand by an A.J. Burnett pitch in the first inning of Game 5 Monday. “Suga” Shane remained in the game until he was pulled for Ben Francisco in the top of the eighth.

Victorino’s hand was X-rayed and showed no broken bones, he said after the game.

Victorino was hit by a high-and-in fastball.

He told reporters that he planned to play so it wasn't too surprising to see him in the lineup. The real question was how effective he could be out on the field.

The Flyin’ Hawaiian possibly would have sat out with the bruised hand if the Phillies weren’t on the brink of elimination.
