Upper Makefield police removed 46 Yorkshire Terriers from what appeared to be a puppy mill early this morning.

The dogs, found in cages in the basement of a vacant Bucks County house, seemed to be fairly healthy and fed.

No charges have been filed in the case, however, the adult dogs were microchipped so police are using the chips to locate the owner.

The rescued dogs were moved and are being treated at the Bucks County SPCA.
