A woman was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on charges she assaulted a Pittsburgh police officer who arrested her for threatening people who were protesting during the city's gay pride parade in June.
Ariel Lawther, of Harmony, is charged with assaulting the officer, resisting arrest, and also assaulting a protester.
Wednesday's preliminary hearing will determine whether she must stand trial.
Lawther's arrest made headlines when a video showed the officer punching Lawther, 19, in the side as he tried to subdue her.
City officials have since determined the officer didn't use excessive force in controlling Lawther.
The Delta Foundation, a local group that advocates for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, had asked police to investigate the officer's actions after a friend of Lawther's posted the video.
