Daughter Charged in Stabbing Death of Mother in Montgomery County

A Montgomery County woman faces first degree murder charges in the stabbing death of her mother.

Details of the killing were revealed in a criminal affidavit relased Friday.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to the 400 block of Abby Lane in Perkiomen Township around 3:15 a.m. Friday and found House dead in her bedroom. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, including to the chest from a kitchen knife, officials said.

The victim's daughter, 21-year-old Elena House-Hay had been the one to call 911 from a neighboring home, then told police a man had attacked her mother and ran, the affidavit said.

House-Hay's clothing was soaked in blood, her hand had been sliced and she admitted to having a fight with her mother earlier in the night, police said.

House-Hay was charged with first degree murder, third degree murder and related offenses.

Her preliminary hearing is set for July 31.
