Temple graduate Kevin Smiley proved he had guts after spending hours a day passing out his resume out to strangers along a busy Center City Street – now he has a job.

The aspiring sportswriter was offered a full time paid internship in Comcast’s Web Department and is scheduled to start next week.

NBC Philadelphia first told you about Smiley’s unconventional approach to finding work last week.  Each morning during rush along 16th and Market Streets, Smiley held up a sign that read, “Temple Grad Looking for Work, Have Resume”.

Smiley, who was born with Spina Bifida, said he got the idea for taking his job search public after seeing another two recent college graduates who were profiled on NBC 10 News handing out resumes to motorist near the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Smiley, who has a journalism degree, said he hopes his new position will turn into a full-time job.
