Caught on Tape: Woman Steals Puppy From Pet Store

Surveillance video from a Conshohocken pet store shows a woman stuffing 9-week-old Pipsqueak into her purse

A woman was caught on tape stuffing an adorable puppy into her purse inside a Conshohocken pet store this week. Now police would like to catch her and find nine-week-old Pipsqueak.

Surveillance video shows two women walking in the store with oversized purses or totes. One leans over a bin inside Playful Pets on Wednesday afternoon that Pipsqueak was in with several other puppies. She swipes Pipsqueak out of the bin and gently places him into her purse.

Workers at Playful Pets were disturbed that the woman did it all in front of two little girls who police think are probably no older than four.

"I think it's sick," Lisa Terrio told NBC10's Cydney Long."If they can't afford to buy a puppy, how are they going to afford to feed it?"

"I'm angry because she brazenly did that in front of her children and I'm upset because I don't know what they are going to do with the dog," said Bethann Neuschwander. "He was a good dog. Very tiny, full of energy. He loved to play and loved to bark."

Pipsqueak, a Mini Daschund, would have sold for around $900.
