After Parents Avert Childrens' Eyes, Topless Woman Resists Arrest in Rehoboth Beach: Police

A woman was arrested after walking topless through downtown Rehoboth Beach, prompting parents to cover their children's eyes, said police in the Delaware beach town.

Jennie Lee Martin, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, put her shirt back on at an officer's request Saturday night around 6:45 but refused to let police put her in handcuffs, insisting that police show her what law she was breaking, said Rehoboth Beach Police Department spokesman Lt. Jaime Riddle.

Officers said that before they caught up to the 37-year-old woman along Wilmington Avenue near the boardwalk, Martin spat on a man who asked her to put her shirt on after he saw families covering their children's eyes.

Martin smelled of alcohol and officers had to forcefully put her in handcuffs, said police. They found marijuana and a broken pipe inside Martin's purse. [[395136421, C]]
