Police Officer Shoots Man During Road Rage Incident: DA

Authorities say an off-duty eastern Pennsylvania police officer shot another man after a confrontation with several people in what officials are calling a road rage incident.

Officials in Berks County told the Reading Eagle that the confrontation happened just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in Ontelaunee Township.
Police said three people in one car got out and started scuffling with the off-duty officer, who was alone in another vehicle.

Police and District Attorney John Adams said the officer pulled out a gun and fired one shot, hitting a man. He was taken to Reading Hospital, where his condition wasn't immediately available.
Officials said the officer who fired the shot was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center along with a passenger in one of the cars who was extremely upset.
