Drivers in Philadelphia’s 19132 ZIP code, on average, pay $2,760 a year for insurance. That’s 128 percent more for car insurance than drivers in the rest of Pennsylvania, according to a recent CarInsurance.com study.
The 19132 ZIP code covers parts of North Philadelphia and Strawberry Mansion from about Susquehanna Avenue to Allegheny Avenue and N 13th Street to the Kelly Drive.
The website uses a the rates for a fully-covered 2014 Honda Accord across 33,401 ZIP codes to find the highest and lowest rates nationwide.
Only drivers in Detroit’s 48227 and Brooklyn’s 11226 zips codes pay more than folks in Philly do when compared to the rest of their respective states, said CarInsurance.com.
