Some pessimists out there say getting married can be like a prison sentence.
A couple in Marcus Hook, Delaware are finding out about the truth in that statement, after they were both arrested for dealing heroin.
The Daily Times reported that police arrested Dominici DiGiacomo, 27, and Nina Bates, 25, one day after the two were married.
The paper said that a months-long investigation into the couple led to a July 3 bust.
Marcus Hook mayor James Schiliro, who performed the marriage ceremony for the couple, spoke to the Daily Times about the arrests:
“This was an undercover operation that had been going on for months, and none of us really knew exactly when it was going to go down,” Schiliro said. “It turned out the timing was perfect.”
