Overnight Fatal Shootings in Philadelphia

Multiple fatal shootings occurred overnight around the city of Philadelphia.

At 12:30 a.m., gunfire struck four men in the Strawberry Mansion section.  Police said one man in his 20's was shot in the head and died at 1814 N. Newkirk Street.  Another victim suffered a gunshot wound to the face, and was transported in critical condition to Temple Hospital.  The third victim was hit in the chest and back, and the fourth in the back.  Both of those men are also in critical condition.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the shooting.

In northern Philadelphia, police found a man dead from bullet wounds at Girard Avenue and Franklin Street.  Authorities said the victim was a 22-year-old Hispanic male, shot 3 times in the chest.  He was discovered inside a car around 3 a.m.

Outside of the city, six males between the ages of 22 and 35 were hit in a shooting incident.   EMT's transported two men from the scene at 9th Street and Kerlin Streets after the report of a multiple shooting.  Four other men also hurt in the shooting were transported by private car for treatment to the hospital.
