A group of armed men stole $100 from a man, pistol-whipped him and shot him during an altercation in the courtyard of a Philadelphia apartment complex.
The violent robbery happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the Regency Village at Ogontz and Olney avenues in the Olney section of the city.
The 44-year-old victim said that during the robbery he was pistol whipped and shot.
“Not only does he have a gunshot wound to his side but he has some bruising to the face and back of his head,” said Philadelphia Police.
The victim was taken Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Investigators said the gunmen fled the scene north on Ogontz Avenue.
