An off-duty Philadelphia Housing Authority Officer shot and killed an armed robber Sunday night.
Police say two armed suspects tried to rob the off-duty officer on the 400 block of W School House Lane around 6:50 p.m. The officer then opened fire.
One suspect managed to escape and fled the scene while the second suspect was struck several times. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m.
The slain suspect has not yet been identified. The officer was not injured during the ordeal.
