Nurses Union Wants Single Site for Treating Ebola Patients if Outbreak Reaches Philadelphia

Pennsylvania's largest nurses union called on Philadelphia hospitals to work with public health officials to develop a single treatment center for Ebola — if an outbreak were to reach the region.

At one site health providers could "pool resources, make the most effective use of personnel and equipment, and minimize the risk of contagion," said the Pennsylvania Association of Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

PASNAP officials went on to say "unless and until such a space is developed," individual hospitals need to devote all the resources required to protect their employees and their patients when caring for Ebola patients.
