Police launched an investigation after skeletal remains were found near an area airport.

Delaware State Police said that a billboard crew found the decomposing human remains in marshland along S DuPont Highway (U.S. Route 13) near New Castle Airport around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The body was partially clothed and found about 20 feet down a grass embankment.

Police say investigators don't know the age or gender of the remains, which were turned over to Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information should contact the Major Crimes Unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630, extension 7.
