NJ Baby Dies After Struck by Car Backing Out of Driveway

A New Jersey toddler is dead after being struck by a car pulling out of his family's driveway.

A police captain in Gloucester County's Washington Township tells The Philadelphia Inquirer it appears to have been a β€œterrible accident.”

Capt. Richard Leonard says the car was driven by 37-year-old Brad Osborn. Police say Osborn was leaving the boy's house Sunday after visiting the family and didn't know the child was behind his car.

The 17-month old child, whose name has not been released, died of internal injuries at Cooper University Hospital.
