Man Threatens Day Care: Police

A man who allegedly called a South Jersey day care center and threatened to harm the children there has been charged with making terroristic threats.

Egg Harbor Township police say 31-year-old Matthew Poole, of Pleasantville, is also charged with causing a public alarm. His bail was set at $75,000 and it was not known Wednesday if he had retained an attorney.

Poole allegedly called the day care center on Tuesday. Authorities say it's not clear why he made the call, but they say he was never at the center and the threat was not credible.

A telephone number for Poole could not be located Wednesday.
