Delaware State Police have arrested a New Castle man after a cigarette store was robbed at knifepoint.
It happened about 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fairwinds Cigarette Outlet in Bear. Troopers say a man took a magazine from a display rack and brought it to a clerk.
Police say the man pulled a large knife from his shorts and demanded money from the clerk.
Officers say the clerk refused to give the man money and activated a panic alarm. Police say the man ran away.
Troopers say witnesses directed them to a nearby motel where the suspect was seen running.
Twenty-two-year-old Matthew Gradwell was arrested and charged with robbery.
