Officials said a suspended Middlesex County jail official accused of having sex with a female inmate has pleaded guilty to obstructing the administration of law and witness tampering.
Derick Stevens will be placed on probation for up to five years and forfeit his job under terms of a plea agreement.
The suspended assistant director of the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center was indicted in 2013 of having sex with the woman when he worked as a guard at the Middlesex County youth detention center in 2000.
The 42-year-old Burlington Township resident is scheduled to be sentenced on March 27.
