Delaware Mom Pleads Guilty to Murdering 4-Year-Old Daughter

A woman who was repeatedly investigated by child protection officials in Delaware has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her 4-year-old daughter.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tanasia Milligan faces at least 10 years in prison and up to 25 years behind bars when sentenced in January. She could have faced life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder by abuse or neglect.

Milligan and her boyfriend, Willie Reeder, were arrested in October 2014, two months after Autumn Milligan died of blunt force trauma in a New Castle motel room after suffering multiple injuries.

Reeder, who authorities say failed to call 911 for the dying girl, was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison after pleading guilty to felony child endangerment. Prosecutors dropped a murder charge against him.
