Drunken Driver Slams Into Woman Pulling Out of Moose Lodge Parking Lot: Police

A woman pulled out of a social club parking lot and into the path of a drunken driver, according to Delaware State Police. Three people were injured in the crash.

Donna White attempted to turn onto Log Cabin Hill from the parking lot of the Lewes-Rehoboth Moose Lodge around 2 a.m. on Sunday when the left front of her 2007 Pontiac Vibe was struck by Vasquez’s 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser, said police. He was traveling eastbound on the road.

White, 67, was eventually flown to Christiana Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Her passenger, Patricia Kent, also suffered serious injuries and was medevaced from the scene of the crash to Beebe Healthcare.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, Angelo Gring-Vazquez, 20, was not injured even though he was not wearing a eat belt. His 67-year-old female passenger was transported to Beebe by EMS. Her name will not be released until police contact her next of kin.

Troopers suspected Gring-Vazquez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. They charged him with DUI.

Crews closed Log Cabin Hill Road for about three hours while the Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the scene.

As the investigation continues, more charges could come, said authorities.
