35-year-old Thelma Torres was on her way to fill out a job application with her 21-year-old niece Lanette Torres and the niece's 2-year-old son.

A car accident has claimed the life of an Atlantic City mother of five.

The crash happened on Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township on Tuesday afternoon.

35-year-old Thelma Torres was on her way to fill out a job application with her 21-year-old niece Lanette Torres and the niece's 2-year-old son.
 
Police say Lanette Torres' car had a mechanical problem and crossed into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Fredrick Cincotti. He was not injured.
 
Cincotti's vehicle rested on top of Torres' car, trapping Thelma Torres.
 
Her niece and the niece's son were injured.
 
Thelma Torres' five children range in age from 18 to 12.
 
The accident remains under investigation.
