Bam Margera: ‘This Definitely Woke Me Up'

Bam Margera talks about his new awareness of drinking and driving, the love his local hometown has for Ryan Dunn, and of a text message from Brad Pitt

Jackass star Bam Margera talked to WMMR’s Preston and Steve, as well as NBC Philadelphia’s Tim Furlong Tuesday morning, saying that he’s cried so much he “ran out of tears” for his best friend Ryan Dunn.

Dunn, also a Jackass star, and lifelong friend of West Chester’s own Margera, died in a high-speed crash last week. Dunn’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

In Margera’s candid interview, he talks about Dunn always “driving like a maniac,” and says that the whole terrible experience woke him up to the fact that no one should drive if they’ve had any alcohol to drink.

“When you’re drunk, you always think you’re not,” Margera says. “If you even drink at all don’t get behind the wheel.”

Margera tells anecdotes of his beloved hometown of West Chester, whose residents have been mourning the loss of Dunn right along with him.

Margera says that he has gotten condolences from some of the most unexpected people -- like Brad Pitt.

He tells NBC Philadelphia of upcoming plans for movies and a clothing line.
