2 Kids, 3 Adults Escape Philly House Fire

Three adults and two children escaped a fire in a Philadelphia home early Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a blaze on the first floor of a two-story home near the intersection of 7th Street and Nedro Avenue in the Olney section of the city around 2:15 a.m., according to officials.

The five residents, who were in the basement when the fire broke out,  were able to flee the burning house, where the flames had moved to the second floor, authorities said.

Fire crews got the blaze under control around 2:50 a.m.

Officials transported the five victims to a local hospital for observation.
