State officials Tuesday confirmed an additional human case of West Nile Virus for 2008 with a disease onset date of Sept. 28.

The new case is from Philadelphia.

There are now 14 confirmed human cases in Pennsylvania this year, with one fatality.

The 2008 WNV mosquito season ended with the first hard frost; therefore, no further public health action is needed.

In late October, eight other cases of West Nile Virus were confirmed in the Philadelphia area.
