Alisan Porter Is Crowned Champion of ‘The Voice'

The "Curly Sue" actress's comeback is complete

Alisan Porter was crowned the 10th champion of "The Voice" on a star-studded finale Tuesday night.

Porter, a child actor who overcame addiction years later, dominated the season with coach Christina Aguilera, and will receive a grand prize of a recording contract. The Los Angeles resident's win is the first for a female coach in 10 seasons of the hit NBC show.

Porter was already known for starring as a precocious homeless girl in the 1991 John Hughes film "Curly Sue" as a child. But her powerful voice, which repeatedly brought Aguilera to tears this season, has taken her career to a new peak.

She took the crown over Adam Wakefield, the runner-up. Laith Al-Saadi and Hannah Huston were the other two finalists.

The biggest moment of the night — besides the victory, of course — was undoubtedly the duet between pop sensations Ariana Grande and Aguilera, the "Voice" host joining a medley of "Dangerous Woman" and "Into You."

The two-hour finale also featured performances by Sia, Zayn and an opening number from Little Big Town.

Sia sang "Cheap Thrills" in her trademark wig and bow. Dancing next to her was her pint-sized stand-in Maddie Ziegler, who shot to stardom in Sia's music video for "Chandelier" and has stuck with the singer ever since. Zayn sang "Like I Would" amid a moody laser light show that looked like the rain.

Each of the finalists got to perform with a star who's already made it in the music industry. Alison Krauss, who's won 27 Grammys, joined Wakefield for country ballad "Willin,'" while Huston and Cee-Lo Green went "Crazy," performing the decade-old smash.

Al-Saadi played a boot-stomping rendition of Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" with the Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer himself, the long-haired rockers trading guitar solos. Porter took the stage with Jennifer Nettles, of country duo Sugarland, for a rendition of her "Unlove You."

The judges performed, but they had plenty of fun off the stage on the finale, too. Aguilera's Snapchat account got the "Voice" treatment – she described the talents of her fellow judges by adding the kinds of filters the social media company has become known for, like glasses and a mortarboard for "music professor" Pharrell and a cowboy hat for Blake Shelton, the country boy.

Later on, Shelton was faced with a gambling problem after, among many other follies, trying and failing to drink a whole bottle of hot sauce.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the show came toward the end, when a video showed host Carson Daly driving the final four to their last rehearsal. They sang "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" together, and Daly surprised them with a new car each.

It brought a reminder of how far each of the show's hopefuls have come since starting on "The Voice" as (relative) unknowns. "I've got a car with about 230,000 miles on it, so this came at about the right time," Al-Saadi joked.

But it was Porter's night. Her final confessional summed up how the mother of two felt about coming on the show: "I felt so happy and comfortable knowing I had made the choice to come here and pursue my dreams."
