Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Announce Divorce After 10 Years of Marriage

The 43-year-old actress and the 42-year-old Oscar winner recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's fairy-tale romance has come to an end.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the former lovebirds said in a statement to E! News Tuesday. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."

The 42-year-old Oscar winner and the 43-year-old actress just recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.

Affleck and Garner married back in June 2005. The duo have three kids together, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

The split comes after rumblings of a possible divorce. A moving truck was even spotted at the couple's Brentwood home several days ago, sparking rumors of a possible divorce. Back in May, Garner and Affleck put on a united front in public despite separation speculation.

After the 2013 Oscars where Affleck took home a trophy for "Argo," the star was forced to defend his acceptance speech, in which he called his marriage "work." "I want to thank my wife...for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It is work, but it's the best kind of work. And there's no one I'd rather work with," he said on stage.

In September 2014, the "Gone Girl" actor slammed tabloid reports there was trouble brewing in his marriage to Garner. "See, that's tabloid s--t. That's all bulls--t," Affleck told Details. "They completely lie. I mean, I can show you 10 articles of Star and OK!—those magazines feel totally comfortable absolutely fictionalizing every single element of the story. And there's nothing you can do about that. My only hope is that people with any common sense recognize that those stories are false."
