Nutty Quaids a No-Show, Could Lose $500G Bail

Zany couple believes "star whackers" are out to get them

Those wacky Quaids have missed another court date, and this time it could cost them big bucks.

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, who claim unknown peope are out to kill them, didn't appear for a Santa Barbara court date for their felony vandalism arraignment Tuesday in Santa Barbara, Calif. They're accused of squatting in and vandalizing a Montecito, Calif., home they once owned.

Both were free on $500,000 bail, and Evi Quaid may have to forfeit hers, according to People magazine. A new bench warrant in the same amount was issued against Evi Quaid, 47. Randy Quaid, brother of actor Dennis Quaid, had an excuse: he was ordered by a Canadian court to stay north of the border pending his immigration case. The pair want to move to Canada because they say "star whackers" are out to kill them and take their money.

"They follow us, they tail us," Randy Quaid said in an interview with ABC. "They tag our cell phone, they hack our computer. We're just trying to find some safety and security in this."

The Quaids believe the shadowy killers are out to get Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears as well.

Evi Quaid's probation had been revoked from their previous case in which they allegedly skipped out on a big hotel bill. A warrant for Randy was also issued Tuesday, but held on condition he shows for the couple's next hearing on Nov. 16.
