Phillies Fans Prefer Twitter to Facebook

Do you "like" and "follow" the Phillies?

Do you “Like” and “Follow” the Phillies?

The Phillies, with five straight National League East titles, 204 consecutive sellouts at Citizens Bank Park, and a big buzz around town leading in to Monday’s home opener, rank third in the social media world, according to a study conducted by social media agency Banyan Branch.

The study, which was conducted during the off-season, analyzed the social media statistics of Major League Baseball teams and players. According to the research, which analyzed Facebook “likes” and Twitter “followers,” the Phillies are third in Facebook likes behind the Yankees and Red Sox, but top the list of all MLB clubs on Twitter.

No Phillies players are atop the Twitter list that Banyan Branch put out (though Jimmy Rollins and his 132,021 Twitter followers would put him seventh according to my math).

So if you haven’t already, it’s time to “like” the Phillies on Facebook and “follow” them on Twitter. And to check out the full infographic from the research, click here.
