Allen Returns, Andrews Active as Eagles Face Giants

The Eagles secondary will see the return of two key players Sunday night as the Birds face the Giants on Sunday Night Football.

Rookie starting S Nate Allen and veteran CB Ellis Hobbs are back after sitting out the Eagles 59-28 drubbing of the Redskins with injuries.

The return of the Eagles starting safety and former starting defensive back -- Dimitri Patterson remains the starter -- could take a back seat to a guy who will be in uniform for New York. After a week of speculation that he wouldn’t play, former Eagles OL Shawn Andrews will be "Getting My Michael Phelps on" for the Giants.

As for the guys who won’t be suiting up, DBs Trevard Lindley and Jorrick Calvin topped the Eagles inactive list. A near fumble on a return by Calvin last week along with the return of Hobbs could have likely cost him a spot on the active roster.

Joining the defenders on the inactive list were WR Chad Hall, TE Garrett Mills, DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, OT Austin Howard, OG Reggie Wells and third-string QB Mike Kafka.

The big names on the Giants inactive list were usual starters OT David Diehl, C Shaun O’Hara, FB Madison Hedgecock and WR Steve Smith. LB Gerris Wilkinson, DT Linval Joseph, DE Alex Hall and WR Darius Reynaud joined them on the inactive list.
