Sixers' Odds to Sign LeBron Improve, But …

On Thursday, the Sixers were reported as one of the four teams on LeBron James' free-agency wishlist for this coming offseason. In addition to the Sixers, the Cavaliers, Rockets and Lakers were also reported as the teams that LeBron has his eyes on.

Bovada on Friday updated its odds on which team LeBron will be playing for at the start of the 2018-19 season and, wouldn't you know it, the teams with the four best odds to land The King matched that reported wishlist.

But, the Sixers were given the longest odds out of that group:

• Rockets: 5/2

• Cavaliers: 13/5

• Lakers: 3/1

• Sixers: 11/2

3 observations after Sixers fall just short in 4th-quarter comeback vs. Magic

• Warriors: 10/1

• Spurs: 18/1

In Bovada's previous odds release, the Sixers were tied with the Pistons for the fifth-best odds of landing LeBron at 10/1, behind the Rockets (5/2), Cavs (11/4), Lakers (5/1) and Warriors (6/1). But while the Rockets' odds remained the same as the favorites, the Sixers, Cavs and Lakers all crept closer by having their odds shortened.

Of course, a lot has happened in the last month that has given the Sixers momentum as an apparent serious LeBron suitor. There was a report that LeBron visited private Philly schools over the All-Star breakbillboards in Cleveland, LeBron's reaction to the billboards and The King gushing over the Sixers' two young stars on social media after they beat his Cavs in Cleveland on national television.

So what does all this mean? Well, the only thing that can probably be said with certainty at this point is the LeBron-to-Philly buzz isn't going away anytime soon.
