Social Media Reacts to Freddy Galvis' Untimely Lack of Hustle

Freddy Galvis' lack of hustle nearly cost the Phillies a victory Tuesday night, and people on social media were not happy about it.

In the end, Galvis' baserunning blunder didn't cost the Phils a win. The Phillies beat the Mets, 6-2, in 10 innings after a late rally got them just their 13th win over New York since the start of the 2015 season (see Instant Replay).

Galvis hit a pop-up in the infield with two outs in a one-run game during the eighth inning but failed to reach second base after Mets third baseman Jose Reyes dropped the ball because of a lack of hustle.

The Phillies' next batter, Andres Blanco, hit a ground-rule double to score the game-tying run but left Galvis on third base instead of scoring what could have been the game-winning run.

In the moment, though, the double would have given the Phillies a 3-2 lead. But the lack of hustle could have played a key role in handing them another heartbreaking loss.
