MILWAUKEE - Joel Embiid's back-to-back debut has to wait.
Embiid will not play Monday against the Bucks after logging 36 minutes against the Thunder on Sunday.
The Sixers' All-Star center had been made available for his first set of consecutive games on Sunday, but whether or not he was going to be cleared for it was dependent on how he felt the next day and how much he played the previous game.
The Sixers plan for Embiid to play in the upcoming back-to-back, Friday at home against the Heat and Saturday on the road against the Pacers. It would be his first.
After posting a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Sixers' loss to the Thunder, Embiid reiterated he wanted to suit up the next day.
"I don't know but hopefully I'll play," Embiid said. "I feel like I've done the right things and if these guys want to win, I feel like I should play and I'm ready to play.
"Although we lost, I feel that we got a great momentum so if these guys want to go to the playoffs and win, I'm sure the team can win without me. But I feel like we're also better with me so I feel like they should let me play."

Prior to the game, Brett Brown said he would not limit Embiid's playing time in Oklahoma City based on the possibility of him playing in his first back-to-back.
"We'll play him," Brown said. "And then we'll judge it after."
The Sixers are 2-7 without Embiid this season.
