Russian President Vladimir Putin Is Getting Divorced

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife announced on Thursday of their mutual decision to divorce. Standing awkwardly side-by-side, the pair made the announcement on Russian television, and Putin confirmed that their decision was mutual and the two no longer live together. Lyudmila Putina added that their marriage is ending because the two "no longer see each other," and she said she does not enjoy publicity or flying on planes. Their announcement was made by the state-controlled television station Russia24 after the pair attended a ballet performance at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Putin and Lyudmila have rarely been seen together in recent years, and rumors had swirled that the first lady had moved to a monastery.
