Al Franken Brings Sarcasm to Senate

He once made a living on Saturday Night Live, so it shouldn't surprise that Sen. Al Franken might bring sarcasm and visual aids to the hallowed Senate floor. Decrying the looming Aug. 2 deadline for raising the nation's borrowing limit, Franken brought a sign reading "Welcome Terrorists," to make the point that national security could suffer. Last year, Franken's antics irked Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, by making annoyed faces while the courtly Kentucky Republican spoke. "This isn't Saturday Night Live," McConnell scolded the funnyman-turned lawmaker.
