WARNING: Harsh Language. With the face of John Yoo, the Philadelphia Inquirer’s newest and most controversial columnist, plastered to his face, a protester slaps a “Syrian suspect” in the head. This was part of a demonstration reenacting the military’s infamous “waterboarding” torture. method called Yoo justified “harsh interrogation techniques” for the Bush Administration using a loose interpretation of the Constitution. His findings were released in two memos to the Department of Justice. The protesters are boycotting the newspaper’s hiring of Yoo as a columnist.
