Pennsylvania Cemetery Seeking to Bar Visitors, Future Burials

A Berks County cemetery is taking the bizarre step of seeking to ban visitors to graves of people buried there. The owners of Rock Cemetery in Caernarvon Township have reportedly already banned future burials in the shuttered cemetery. One woman testified before state lawmakers Tuesday that the cemetery management has told her she can not be buried next to her husband — even though she already paid for a plot. A legal battle is brewing over the right of the cemetery owner to shut down a burial ground.
