Bucks County Biotech Firm Unveils Mobile Medical Lab

A Bucks County biotechnology company unveiled Tuesday morning its latest technological advancement, one it believes could redefine global disease monitoring.

FlowMetric Diagnostics of Doylestown, Pa., showed off its mobile medical lab — called the Mo-POD — during BIO 2015, an international life sciences industry convention taking place this week at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

“What this allows you to do is analyze, track and monitor infectious diseases from Ebola to tuberculosis anywhere in the world,” said Renold Capocasale, founder and CEO of FlowMetric. “It’s completely self-contained and self-powered [using solar power], and it only requires a person to give two drops of blood.
