A Pittsburgh woman is jailed on a charge that she endangered her child by leaving a hospital after the youngster was diagnosed with a fractured neck vertebra.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 32-year-old Aliya Bey, who remained jailed Sunday, two days after police say she left Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
Police say Bey took the child to the hospital with complaints of a stiff neck on Friday. The age and gender of the child wasn't immediately available.
Doctors determined the child had a fracture, but left the hospital against the advice of doctors because she got tired of waiting for additional treatment.
A district judge set bail at $25,000 when Bey was arraigned Saturday. She faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 24.
