A row home fire killed a mother and her 8-year-old daughter early Thursday morning. The father and two toddlers made it out alive, according to Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers.
The fire broke out at around 4am on the 2200 Block of Morris Street in Philadelphia.
The fire was caused by an illegal power hook-up, Ayers said.
There were no smoke detectors in the home.
The father and two young children, a 1-year-old little girl and 2-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital and are all in stable condition.
